If you know of 9rules and their submission rounds – I’ve been accepted! Yey!! Nuff said.
Now, for those of you that don’t know, 9rules is a blogging community, with the tagline that says “The best content from the independent web.” They accept submissions of sites in rounds, there are 3 rounds this year, I submitted this blog, and it was accepted... at least I hope so, because I keep checking back to make sure that is actually my url on the list!!
I am so honored, I feel like I should make a speech or something, you know, thanking those key people in my life who made this all possible, my millions thousands ahem, tens of fans, my kids, my parents, my dog, oh wait, I don’t have a dog!
Seriously though, thanks to the 9rules team for the acceptance and for actually reading through the thousands of submissions that they probably receive, and thanks to all of my readers and wonderful friends for always being there for me! You guys rock!

Who got their kids new school bags? For like the first day of school? Especially since it’s grade 1 and everything?
Umm, NOT me!
Almost 6 year old: Mommy, will you get me a school bag today?
Me: Well, it’s a holiday and everywhere is closed, BUT I will get it tomorrow! For sure! I’ll go to the mall and get you one after work.
Almost 6 year old: OK, because I don’t like using this small bag – look, my notebook can’t even fit in it!
Me: Hmmm, yes, I see that. OK, well use it just for tomorrow, only 1 day. OK?
Almost 6 year old: OK mommy, what kind of bag will you get me? I know you love to get bags with letters on them!!
Me: Hahah, yes babe, I like bags with letters on them!
Almost 6 year old: What is your favorite letter? I know! You like the ones with G most! Right?

1. It’s the month of Ramadan, which is good because I am desperately in need of some extra blessings!! Ramadan greetings to all!
2. I had really good filet mignon today, it was so good that I had to mention it! However, since I didn’t expect it to taste that good, I didn’t take any photos and so, sadly, I can’t share the recipe with you – next time I make it though, I will!
3. There was a wasp in my room today… oh.the.drama! After much screaming and fighting and swatting, we finally turned on the powerful vacuum and sucked it up!
4. School starts tomorrow – grade 1, ooooh! And so I thought that I would “big boy-ify” the kids bedroom.
Behold!

They are tremendously excited! Thank you IKEA! If you need a “how-to” on the kids desk, lemme know!

5. We’ve been going to the same place for breakfast for YEARS, literally. The kids, because of the pancakes with mini m&ms, and me, because they have the best Eggs Benedict! This weekend they called the kids over and presented them with these huge thingies… we named them “spotty” and “stripey”!

So, how was your weekend?

When they are almost drifting into deep sleep and you kiss them lightly and say “I love you babe”, and then they smile and faintly, almost out of reflex, say “I love you too mommy”...

Hey, it’s the last weekend of summer – sort of – it’s getting cold already, if you life in some place that gets cold that is, and if you do, did you ever notice that as soon as school starts, it gets cold??
If you’re feeling particularly crafty this weekend, you could make this simple school bag, I think I had something like that in high school! Or, if you’re feeling crafty and green, you could make this recycled bag!
For those DIY-ers, this decorated stool looks really cute!
And finally, if you’ve wondered about how West Indian food is so tasty, Cynthia shares the secrets of great green seasoning! I, however, must admit that I will not make green seasoning, simply because I am not that dedicated, and because my mother sometimes spoil me and give me when she makes… otherwise I use a lot of spices… I have an entire shelf full of spices and seasonings – one day I’ll post about that.
In T.O. – check out the new traffic lights at Yonge-Dundas – it’s interesting. The air show is on this weekend at the Ex, I think we might check that out. And now, we’re off to see Star Wars: The Clone Wars today, because I took a day off to go to Centre Island, however it rained and so we decided against it, and instead we had a huge breakfast and now we’ll sit in a dark room and watch “the good guys and bad guys shooting“! Yey!
